Ocoee, FL (PRWEB) December 31, 2010 — Texas Christian University (TCU) is using their undefeated 2010 football campaign and appearance in the 2011 Rose Bowl game as a student recruiting tool. A simple and straightforward advertisement compares TCU’s preparation of their football team to their life preparation for their students. Featured in the national advertisement is an image of their new FX Design Group (FX) news anchor desk and specific mention of the new studio and design.

FX Creative Director Bill Brown worked closely with the Schieffer School’s Aaron Chimble designing a set for the high-definition studio which would be extremely versatile for a wide variety of programs and uses. The HD studio laboratory was part of the final stage of TCU’s $6.5M, 2-year renovation of its Schieffer School of Journalism. The flexibility of the set coupled with their use of state-of-the-art technology has created one of the most sophisticated university studios in the country.

“We understood that it was not only important that we designed for TCU a functional teaching and learning lab, but also an top-shelf recruiting tool to attract the highest quality students who are pursuing a career in journalism,” commented Mr. Brown. “Now that we see the new studio included in their new recruiting message it looks like we accomplished both objectives,” Mr. Brown continued.

Incorporating both seated and stand-up areas student news anchors and reporters are no longer limited to standing behind the old stationary news desk. Students can choose between numerous stand-up positions and use the modular technology integrated in the design to help tell their stories with more impact. The set also includes a stand-up area that incorporates studio windows, providing a real time backdrop of the beautiful TCU campus.

Another component of the studio design is an all-purpose area created for interviews and sports programs. The design features a rolling interview desk for up to five participants and a Plexiglas backdrop featuring color changing LED up lights. This gives the students the ability to shed the Horned Frogs purple hue onto the set for brand strengthening.

The TCU recruiting advertisement appeared in major newspapers nationwide including The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and USA Today. A write up about the new set which aired in early November can be seen at TCU’s daily newsletter called The Skiff at http://www.dailyskiff.com.
